アクセス
自動車道盛岡ICから国道455号を2時間ほど走ったところにあります。
公共交通機関では、盛岡駅から岩泉龍泉洞線バスで2時間ほどで着きます。
駐車場からほどなく歩いたところに受付があります。
鍾乳洞
いざ入洞。
水がとても豊富です。
水が流れていない滝もあります。
観光鍾乳洞はよく祀られています。
ダイナミックな鍾乳石です。青を基調とした照明で演出されています。
この場所も昔は水が流れていました。
水がとてもきれいで、幻想的です。
良く発達した鍾乳石もたくさんあります。
第一地底湖展望台。龍泉洞と言ったら「ここ」といっても過言ではないスポットです。
鍾乳洞を出てから
龍泉洞は入り口と出口が同じ場所なので、展望台から洞内を折り返します。
カフェやお土産どころもあり、ゆっくりと過ごすことができます。
龍泉新洞科学館は、洞窟がそのまま博物館になっている珍しい場所です。洞窟内は撮影禁止だったので写真はありませんが、龍泉洞に来たら絶対立ち寄ってほしい場所です。

日本三大鍾乳洞のひとつである、龍泉洞。水の浸食によって洞穴ができていることを改めて実感できます。水もとても澄んでいて、さらに幻想的にライトアップされています。第一地底湖展望台に行くならばアップダウンがありますが、基本平坦な洞窟なので、非常に歩きやすいです。
鍾乳石目当てで行くと若干の物足りなさを感じてしまうところではありますが、龍泉新洞には立派な鍾乳石や、純度の高い白っぽい鍾乳石も見ることができます。
アクセスが良い場所にあるとは言えませんが、時間をかけてでも一見の価値がある鍾乳洞です。龍泉洞から30分ほどで安家洞にも行くことができるので、是非合わせて見学してください。
