アクセス
北関東自動車道 伊勢崎I.C.から前橋・渋川方面へ、県道73号を線経し30分ほど走ったところ、あるいは太田藪塚I.C.から25分ほど走ったところにあります。
公共交通機関では、赤城駅か大間々駅から「電話でバス」(事前に電話予約して乗りたいバス停から降りたいバス停まで移動できるバス)で鍾乳洞前まで乗りましょう。
駐車場から3分ほど歩いたところに受付があります。
鍾乳洞と植物園が併設されていて、両方合わせて320円です。片方だけでも320円です。
少し歩くと鍾乳洞入り口が見えてきます。

いざ入洞。
鉄イオンなどの不純物が少ないと、透き通た鍾乳石になります。
観光鍾乳洞はよく祀られています。
つらら石や石筍が多く見られますが、貴重なヘリクタイトやヘリグマイトも見られます。
鍾乳洞を出てから
小平鍾乳洞は入り口と出口が異なりますが、それほど離れていません。洞窟を出ると、植物園ルートと帰路ルートに分かれます。植物園も規模は小さいので、予定が無ければ是非足を運んでください。
Cかず～の感想
小平の里は、キャンプ場やバーベキュー場、川や公園など揃っている施設なので、家族でもカップルでも1日中楽しめます。その流れで鍾乳洞も楽しめる施設です。東京からも2時間程度で行ける場所なので、アクセス面でも大変お勧めです。
規模は大変小さく、正直物足りなさは感じますが、透明度が高い鍾乳石や希少価値の高いヘリクタイトやヘリグマイトも見ることができます。
